Тип урока: урок закрепления знаний

Цель урока: повторение изученного материала по темам "Town Life. London ", "Transport and Travelling "

Задачи урока:

Образовательные:

- активизация и контроль употребления лексики по темам " Town Life. London ", " Transport and Travelling ";

- закрепление структуры "It takes me… to do …"

Развивающие:

- развивать фонематический слух;

- развивать диалогическую речь;

Воспитательная:

- воспитывать желание быть вежливыми при обращении за помощью на улице;

- развивать умение работать в сотрудничестве

Оборудование наглядные пособия: текст стихотворения для фонетической зарядки, рисунки различных городских учреждений, диск «This is London», диск с песней «Reach For the Sky».


^ ПЛАН УРОКА

I. Приветствие и организационный момент

- Good morning boys and girls! I’m glad to see you. How are you today?

- What date is it today? What day of week is it today?

- Today we are going to revise the words on topics "Town Life. London " and " Transport and Travelling ", we will play an interesting game, we’ll sing and listen to some interesting facts about transport in London.


II. Фонетическая зарядка

- Let’s begin with this short poem: Trams and cars in our town

Run up and down, run up and down.

Stop! Look at the light!

First look to the left, and then to the right!

- Who wants to read first?

- Do you know what the word “light” means here?

- Translate please the last two lines. Do you always keep this rule?


III. Речевая зарядка

- now tell me please: Do you like to travel?

- Have you ever travelled by plane (train, ship)?

- What is your favourite means of transport?


IV. Активизация лексики по теме " Transport and Travelling "

- open please your books on p. 44. Let’s do ex. 2. You are to work in teams. The team that is the quickiest is the winner. So, complete the vocabulary networks.

The next task is to listen to the text about transport in London. You will understand the text better if you learn some new words. Look at the blackboard:

- And now let’s play. Each of you will get a card. As you see there is a description of some place. And on the blackboard you can see a plan of a small town. Let’s complete it with the buildings. Here are the pictures.

IX. Составление и разыгрывание диалогов

- And the last task is to make up and act out your own dialogues. Ask each other how to get to some place and how long will it take you to get there. You may use the plan on the blackboard or you own pictures. Use the phrases over there please.

- What did we do? What did you like most of all?

- The lesson is over. Give me your record-books.

^ ONE WAY STREET

A foreign tourist who did not know any English was staying at a hotel in London. He wanted to go sightseeing but was afraid to get lost. Therefore, after leaving his hotel, he stopped at the first corner and carefully copied in his book what he thought was the name of the street. Then he walked on. Finally, however, the foreigner got lost. But he didn’t lose his heart. Quite sure of himself, he walked up to a policeman and showed him his notebook. He was greatly surprised that the policeman couldn’t help him. The words the foreigner had so carefully copied were “One Way Street”.

^ LONDON’S TRANSPORT MUSEUM


The buses

What were the first buses like? Did everybody use to travel on them?

The first buses appeared on the streets of London in 1829. They didn’t have engines – horses used to pull them – and they were only for rich people. The ordinary people used to walk everywhere. The fares slowly got cheaper and more and more people started to use them. The buses were double-deckers, just like they are today, but they used to be open at the top. They had a driver, of course, and a conductor. These men used to look after the horses as well as the passengers.


The trains

The first trains made a big difference to ordinary people’s lives. Why?

Before they had trains, most Londoners didn’t use to go out of the city very often. When the first trains appeared, they could afford to go by train to the countryside for day trips.

Some people went to live in the suburbs – they used to travel by train to their jobs in the city centre every day.


The underground

What was the early underground like?

The first underground line opened in 1863. It went through tunnels about 25 meters below the ground. The trains were wooden, not metal like today’s trains – and they were steam trains with very tall funnels. They were very different from our electric trains. The stations were very different too. There weren’t any escalators and the stairs were wooden – so there was always the anger of fire.
